§ Mr. William RossAt 31st December 1974, 7 chronically sick and disabled persons under age 65 were resident in local authority homes for the elderly in Dundee while one mentally disordered person under 65 was resident in a home for the elderly run by a voluntary organisation. One further chronically sick and disabled person and three mentally disordered persons were resident in other types of homes run by voluntary organisations, which also contain some residents over age 65. An assessment of the situation would depend on whether these individuals are almost 65 or considerably younger, on the length of time they are being so accommodated, and on whether the elderly residents in 437W the homes are in the majority or minority. The Tayside Regional Council is best able to make this close study.
