§ Mr. Reidasked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he will take steps to ensure that, when COI-commissioned films, commercials and shorts are being made in Scotland in future, Scottish-registered production companies are given the opportunity to tender for such productions.
§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisThe Central Office of Information commissions film companies on the basis of their suitability for the work to be carried out. The use of competitive tendering is kept under review but on balance it is considered not to offer any advantages over direct commissioning. Where films are being purduced in Scotland, Scottish-registered production companies are always considered.
