Osbornasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals he has received from the British Waterways Board for improving the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation from the Humber to Rotherham and Sheffield, and developing a marina in the Sheffield basin with a view to making use of the BACAT system; and when he expects the continuation work to be authorised by him.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe only proposal before my right hon. Friend is a request 281W by BWB for permission to spend money on improving the Navigation between Doncaster and Rotherham. A decision will be made as soon as possible.
