§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what discussions she has had with the Office of Fair Trading about establishing a code of practice for the footwear industry following the complaints received by the Department about shoe faults.
Mr. Alan WilliamsI have made it clear to the Director General of Fair Trading that I fully support his efforts to introduce a code of practice for the footwear industry. I understand that there is shortly to be a meeting with the trade associations concerned to discuss the provisions of such a code.
