§ Mr. O'MalleyA reduction in the rate of inflation will, of course, directly and particularly help those dependent on social security benefits. But meanwhile the position of beneficiaries will be protected by upratings as frequently as is necessary in current circumstances. My hon. Friend will be aware that Parliament has already passed the order under which the next general increase in benefits will become operative in the week beginning 17th November.
