§ Mr. BoothThe latest available figure for total trade union membership in the United Kingdom relates to the end of 1973, when it was about 11,507,000. Membership of unions not affiliated to the TUC is not separately assessed, but the TUC quoted membership of its affiliated unions as 10,000,401 at December 1973. My right hon. Friend has no arrangements for regular consultations with representatives of unions not affiliated to the TUC, but considers representations made by them on particular matters.
