§ 27. Mr. Spriggsasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he is now able to publish the report about the trading practices of firms which are exporting television tubes, television sets, and flat glass to the United Kingdom in such quantities and at such prices that British firms are closing down and terminating employment contracts with their employees.
§ Mr. DeakinsI understand that my hon. Friend's Question refers to the dumping of these products by foreign firms. An investigation has been carried out into the alleged dumping of colour television tubes by Japanese firms, and an announcement as to the outcome will be made as soon as possible. We have received no application for anti-dumping action in respect of television sets. An application for anti-dumping action against imports of flat glass from Eastern Europe is under consideration.
