HL Deb 04 August 1975 vol 363 c1447WA
The Earl of SELKIRK

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is essential to the Tourist Industry to park charabancs on both sides of Buckingham Palace Gate and whether the public convenience would not be better served by some parking in Wellington Barracks, the Horse Guards or the Mall.

Lord HARRIS of GREENWICH

Parking regulations allow coaches to set down and pick up passengers, but not to wait, in Buckingham Gate during the restricted hours; the regulations are enforced by police and traffic wardens as far as possible. Permits are already issued for coaches to park for limited periods along Constitution Hill and the Mall Horse Ride on guard change days.
