§ Dr. OwenI am seeking the advice of the Independent Scientific Committee on Smoking and Health—the Hunter Committee—on this matter and will be consulting the tobacco industry. The laboratory of the Government Chemist has carried out trial tests to ascertain carbon monoxide yields on a small number of cigarettes and to develop methods for wider testing.
