§ Mrs. Winifred Ewingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment which local authority associations, individual local authorities, and other bodies and individuals have made representations regarding high alumina cement; and what percentage of such representations were critical of this substance.
§ Mr. FreesonI regret that this detailed information could not be made available without disproportionate expenditure. I can, however, say that representations have been received from the three local authority associations in England—the Assocation of District Councils, the Association of County Councils and the Association of Metropolitan Authorities—and that these, like many of the representations received from other bodies and individuals, were primarily concerned with the financial implications of the problems caused by the use of high alumina cement concrete.
