Mr. Guy Barnett

asked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) what was the value of direct investment by British companies in countries other than the United Kingdom who are, or were, members of the European Economic Community, for 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974, respectively; in which industrial sectors such investment took place for each year; and what was the value of the investment for each sector;

(2) what was the value of direct investment by EEC countries in the United Kingdom for 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974, respectively; what were the industrial sectors in which this investment took place, in each year; and what was the value of the investment in each sector.
