HC Deb 24 April 1975 vol 890 c355W
Mr. Spriggs

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment which industrial towns have been visited by the Environment Commission; and whether he is yet able to make a statement on the commission's evidence about the chemical industry situated in the St. Helens parliamentary constituency.

Mr. Denis Howell

I understand that in the course of its investigation into the control of air pollution the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution has so far visited the following places: London, Northfleet, Shellhaven, Avonmouth, Bedfordshire, Anglesey, Warrington, Grangemouth, Fife, and various parts of South Wales and Teesside. As I understand that the commission is still assembling evidence for its report I am unable to comment at this stage.
