§ Mr. MulleyThe Gateshead western bypass is a road for which Tyne and Wear Metropolitan County Council is the highway authority. I understand that 59 houses were demolished and compensation is in the region of £200,000, but that it is not possible to ascertain the actual cost of compulsory purchase compensation in the time available.
