§ Mr. Roderickasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what advice he has given to local authorities on the fuller use of school premises and sports facilities by outside organisations out of school hours.
§ Mr. ArmstrongThe Department will continue to encourage local education authorities to make the fullest possible use of their educational premises for community and recreational activities. The Departmental Circular, "The Chance to Share", issued in February 1970, asked local education authorities to consult and co-operate fully with other local authorities or departments within the same authority, and with the bodies concerned with community facilities, so that every possible opportunity for dual provision could be exploited. The Department asks local education authorities, in planning their new projects, to say what dual provision they envisage.
