§ Mr. Sproatasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement about the incidents on 10th April 1975 in which five Soviet vessels approached British oil installations in the North Sea.
§ Mr. William RodgersThe five Soviet vessels concerned were a destroyer, submarine, two intelligence-gathering vessels and a support vessel. On 10th April they were operating on the high seas in the vicinity of installations on the United Kingdom continental shelf. As I told the hon. and gallant Member for Winchester (Rear-Admiral Morgan-Giles) on 15th April, their activities were kept under surveillance.
