Atkins & Sons Limited, of Derby, which have been refused entry to the container base at Perry Barr, Birmingham, on the instructions of the Regional Secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union; and what response he has made.
§ Mr.BoothThe company wrote to the Prime Minister on 26th March and the hon. Member for Derbyshire, South-East (Mr. Rost) himself forwarded to me on 2nd April a similar letter addressed to him. Officers of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service in the Midlands are in touch with the parties to the dispute and will continue to give all possible assistance in helping to resolve it.

§ Mr. Harold WalkerThe only categories of workers not eligible to receive statutory minimum remuneration at adult rates are learners and juveniles. A disabled worker is eligible to be paid not less than the statutory minimum, unless affected by infirmity or physical incapacity which makes him incapable of earning that minimum and the wages council has authorised payment of a lower minimum under Section 13 of the Wages Councils Act 1959, by issue of a permit.
The Department has no separate reliaable statistics of learners and juveniles in these trades, but a limited amount of information is available from the CIR survey in mid-1972, the results of which were published in its Report Number 77 and which are summarised below, together with the numbers of permits issued by the councils and current in December 1974.
