§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a special grant to the British Museum for the purchase of the fourteenth century Savernake tenure horn, to prevent its sale abroad.
§ Mr. Hugh Jenkins:Yes. I am happy to be able to tell my hon. Friend that the Government will make available to the British Museum for the purchase of this horn a special grant of £60,000, and an advance of £65,000 from the annual purchase grant for 1976–77. A Supplementary Estimate will be laid before Parliament in due course, and meanwhile the money will be advanced from the Contingencies Fund.
