§ 15. Mr. Edward Gardnerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if any consultations on the future of Belize have been held or arranged between the British Government and the Government of Guatemala; and what steps are being taken to keep the Government of Belize informed of decisions taken or contemplated at these consultations.
§ Mr. Ennals:A meeting between the United Kingdom and Guatemalan officials was held in New York in February about Belize. The talks were exploratory. It was agreed that contact would be maintained. The Government of Belize were kept fully informed. No decisions will be taken without full consultation.
