HC Deb 07 April 1975 vol 889 cc335-6W
Mr. Scott

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment why he will not publish the report of his inspector into the decision regarding the rebuilding of St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington.

Mr. John Silkin

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services has postponed this project and withdrawn the request for planning clearance. As I have already told the hon. Member in my letter of 10th March 1975, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment cannot therefore reach a decision on its planning merits. In these circumstances he is not required to publish his inspector's report and to do so in isolation could be misleading. Any future scheme will require fresh planning clearance.
