§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) based on 1972 planning applications of 600,000 p.a., what effect upon the number of applications submitted he expects the Community Land Bill will have;
(2) based on 18,000 planning appeals in 1973, what increase he anticipates will occur following the implementation of phase one of the Community Land Bill.
§ Mr. John SilkinI would not expect to see a repetition of the scramble to obtain planning permissions that occurred in 1972-73 when land speculation was at its height under the last administration.
