asked the Secretary of State for Employment which collective agreements he proposes to refer to the (2) if he will list in the Official Report the most recent figures of vacancies by category of skill in the building trades in the Greater London area.

Following is the information available. The statistics of the numbers unemployed relate to males who last worked in the construction industry and are registered at employment offices. The corresponding unfilled vacancy statistics relate only to vacancies notified to employment offices and are not a measure of total vacancies. The figures do not include the unemployed registered at or vacancies notified to careers offices.

Industrial Arbitration Board for advice under the Equal Pay Act.

In accordance with the Secretary of State's powers under Section 10 of the Equal Pay Act I have arranged today for the agreements for the following industries to be referred to the Industrial Arbitration Board for advice on the amendments needing to be made, as mentioned in Section 3 of the Equal Pay Act, so as to remove discrimination between men and women: baking, Scotland; glove manufacture; wool textiles, Scotland.
