asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the present intervention price for beef in Northern Ireland, and in Eire; and what is the boning allowance in Northern Ireland and in Eire.

There is no single intervention price for beef. The buying-in prices published by intervention agencies vary according to the quality and grade of cattle from which the beef is derived and the presentation of the beef in question. Full details of the prices for the current marketing year applicable in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic are listed below.

The boning allowance payable in the Irish Republic is agreed on a commercial basis between the Republic's intervention agency and the boning plant operators. The question of a boning allowance for
