asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many doctors serve the area of Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston, respectively; and how many persons they have on their lists.

The information about principals in general practice and the patients on their lists as at 1st October 1974 is as follows:

Stevenston 4 8,667

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to end the shortage of doctors in Stevenston.

I am not aware that there is a shortage of doctors in the Stevenston area. As at 1st October 1974 there was one group practice consisting of four principals with 8,667 patients on their combined lists.
