HC Deb 28 November 1974 vol 882 c258W
Mr. Sydney Irving

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what areas of discrimination against British exports to Japan still remain; and what proposals he has for ending these.

Mr. Deakins

While the Japanese Government have taken substantial steps to remove obstacles to British exports, a limited number of tariff and non-tariff barriers still remain. These are directed against imports from all sources, and not specifically from Britain. We will continue to make representations, both bilaterally and in multilateral trade negotiations, about barriers which affect British exports.
