Mr. Welsh

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a table in the OFFICIAL REPORT showing the number of evictions, by local authority area.

Local authorities are not required to provide me with information about numbers of evictions. Anad hoc survey provided the following information about evictions by local authorities in 1972; three counties and 42 small burghs did not respond.
