HC Deb 28 November 1974 vol 882 c261W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement regarding economic planning by his Department, giving details of the extent of such work, any consultations with outside bodies which are being undertaken and any proposals regarding the publication of discussion papers, planning strategies and related materials.

Mr. John Morris

My economic planning responsibilities involve oversight and co-ordination of Government action to deal with the economic and employment problems of Wales. Detailed information about the work of my own and other Departments will be found in the report, Cymru: Wales 1973. I also have received advice and representations from the Welsh Council, the Wales TUC, the CBI in Wales, the nationalised industries, local authorities and other bodies. A wide and increasing range of information on the economic situation in Wales is already published. Further information will be published as necessary.
