HC Deb 28 November 1974 vol 882 cc199-200W
Mr. Speed

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the dates and places of crimes using bombs or other explosive devices that have taken place in Northern Ireland in the past 12 months resulting in death or personal injury; and if he will list the casualties and the number of convictions that have been secured.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

During the last 12 months 59 people have died and 726 have been injured in Northern Ireland as a result of 194 incidents involving bombs or other explosive devices. Of these casualties 12 and seven respectively are thought to have been terrorists. During this period 105 people have been convicted of causing explosions.

I will write to the hon. Member giving details of the dates and places of the explosions and the casualties caused.
