asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish the names of persons appointed to the Layfield Committee and indicate which members of the committee are Welsh-speaking or normally resident in Wales.

The names of the persons so far appointed to the Layfield Committee are:

  2. 2. Mr. Ronald Brain, CB.
  3. 3. Mr. Alexander Bushnell.
  4. 4. Professor Gordon Cameron, BA.
  5. 5. Professor Alan Day.
  6. 6. Mr. Geoffrey Drain, JP.
  7. 7. Dr. George Jones.
  8. 8. Mr. Barry Thornton Jones.
  9. 9. Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw, DBE.
  10. 10. Viscount Ridley, TD, DL.
  11. 11. Mr. George Sharp, OBE.
