HC Deb 26 November 1974 vol 882 c128W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the amount of paper used each year in the production of telephone directories.

Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

The Post Office tells me that the figures for its telephone directories are:

tonnes
1972 27,000
1973 21,000
1974 (estimate) 16,000
1975 (estimate) 38,000

The figures for 1973 and 1974 are artificially depressed due to industrial disputes.
