§ Mr. Norman Lamontasked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will set out in full the rules under which companies are invited to tender for orders from the nationalised industries for computer systems, including any different rules which apply to any particular industry, and including all the obligations which the nationalised industries have to the 119W tenderers to ensure that competition is fair, such as whether all tenders are kept secret from all other tenderers; whether retendering is allowed; and, if so, upon what terms.

The nationalised industries' tender procedures, for computer equipment as for other purchases, are a matter for each board to decide.
