HC Deb 26 November 1974 vol 882 c143W
Mr. Bidwell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will ensure that proposed regulations governing the centralisation of maintenance on British civil air transport will not detract from maximum vigilance in safeguarding airline safety; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I have received no recommendations from the Civil Aviation Authority, which is responsible for safety matters, for amendmetns to the regulations governing the maintenance of aircraft but I am informed by the authority that it is about to consult all interested parties about a number of possible changes. I shall consider this matter in the light of any recommendations I may receive from the authority for changes in the relevant regulations.
