HC Deb 22 November 1974 vol 881 cc531-2W
Mr. Gwynfor Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his estimate of the current short- age of Welsh language teachers in nursery, primary and secondary schools, respectively.

Mr. Armstrong

A survey of secondary schools about a year ago suggested that there was then a shortage of between 30 and 40 Welsh language teachers in these schools. Information about any shortage in nursery and primary schools has not been collected centrally.
