§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will take action to ensure continuity of employment in relation to the HS146 pending his review of the project.
§ Mr. BennIt would not be appropriate to give any commitment in advance of decisions on our present examination of the future of the project. The Government, of course, are aware of the anxiety of those connected with the project, and the effect that cancellation would have on employment is one of the factors being taken into account in our examination.
§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will now authorise the building of two prototype HS146 aircraft pending the outcome of any evaluation of the project.
§ Mr. BennI must ask my hon. Friend to await the outcome of the Government's current review of the project.
