HC Deb 22 November 1974 vol 881 c550W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer for what reasons he has not filled the vacancy for the Government-appointed director of British Petroleum, caused by the death of Sir John Stevens, KCMG, DSO, OBE, who died on 27th October 1973.

Mr. Dell

The Government's general relations with BP are conducted through normal departmental channels direct with the chairman and management. An announcement about the appointment of a second director will be made at the appropriate time.
