HC Deb 20 November 1974 vol 881 c446W
Mr. Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she will ask Westminster City Council to delay the demolition of the building housing the existing clinic in Lisson Grove until she has decided to give specific approval to the building of a repacement.

Dr. Owen

No. Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster Area Health Authority (Teaching) has reached agreement with Westminster City Council to vacate the premises at 217 Lisson Grove by the end of November 1974. Services will be maintained at the same level in temporary premises—Portakabins—provided by the city council.

Mr. Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when she expects to give approval to the building of a new clinic in Lisson Grove which will furnish essential services for the Lisson Green Estate; and when this building will be started.

Dr. Owen

I hope to approve the programme of health centre schemes for building starts in 1975–76 some time in December 1974 and I intend that the Lisson Grove scheme should find a place in it.
