19. Mr. Sproat

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will introduce measures designed to increase the rate of house building in oil-related areas of Scotland.

Mr. Millan

Special measures are already being taken. The Scottish Special Housing Association is providing up to 4,600 houses in the oil areas. The Housing Rents and Subsidies (Scotland) Bill will increase the financial help available to local authoritties with large housing programmes.
