HC Deb 19 November 1974 vol 881 c356W
57. Sir John Rodgers

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will permit the names of soldiers killed in Northern Ireland to be added to war memorials in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

Although it would be a departure from normal practice to add the names of soldiers killed in peacetime operations to war memorials, my permission is not necessary since the final decision regarding any alteration to a memorial is a matter for those locally responsible for the memorial in question.
