HC Deb 19 November 1974 vol 881 c355W
55. Mr. Grimond

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many university places have not been taken up and in what subjects.

Mr. Prentice

In October 1973 admissions of first-year full-time undergraduates were about 6,000 less than United Kingdom universities estimated they could have accommodated. Data by subject groups is contained in the Eleventh Report of the Universities Central Council on Admissions, published in January 1974.
