HC Deb 19 November 1974 vol 881 cc355-6W
Mr. Ovenden

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received concerning the change in status of F. L. Calder College, Liverpool: and what replies he has given.

Mr. Prentice

The Liverpool authority has not yet submitted final plans for the future development of higher education in the non-university sector in its area. I have received a number of representations from staff and students of F. L. Calder College about the former authority's proposal that the college should amalgamate with three other colleges of education. In reply, I have assured them that I shall take full account of their views before reaching my decision on the authority's final plans in due course.
