§ Mr. Reidasked the Lord President of the Council (1) whether he will consider introducing enabling legislation designed to allow physical plans for housing the Scottish assembly to proceed in advance of the enactment of the Assembly Bill;
(2) what consideration he has given to the likely location of the Scottish assembly.
§ Mr. Harry EwingThe location of the assembly and the buildings that it will require are issues which we will be considering as part of our general programme for implementing devolution. If we find that we need additional powers to provide the necessary accommodation, we shall ask Parliament for them.
