Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will send out a circular advising local education authorities whether, in the school meals service, rising costs and financial stringency should be reflected in less attractive meals or, alternatively, in higher prices.

There is no question of lowering the standard of the school dinner but the level of charge is being reviewed.
