HC Deb 15 November 1974 vol 881 cc270-1W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much of the £20,000 allocated to the Resettlement Association (Northern Ireland) for this financial year has been disbursed; how many ex-prisoners have been assisted; what is the average amount paid; and how much are the highest and the lowest payments.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The Resettlement Association is an independent body to which the Government have so far paid a contribution of £7,500. The way in which it gives financial assistance is a matter for the body itself, but its constitution specifically precludes the making of payments to individuals.
