HC Deb 14 November 1974 vol 881 c202W
Mr. Welsh

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to abolish the £2 per ton levy on Scottish sugar deliveries outwith a 100 miles radius of the Greenock sugar refinery.

Mr. Strang

This is a matter for the sugar refiners. It is common practice for manufacturers to apply a haulage charge or price variation where journeys of some distance are involved. These apply, where appropriate, to deliveries throughout the United Kingdom.
