HC Deb 14 November 1974 vol 881 c227W
Mr. Gould

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will intervene in the dispute involving the National Association of Schoolmasters which has disrupted the education of some pupils in Southampton schools.

Mr. Armstrong

No. This is a local dispute which must be resolved locally. But I urge the teachers concerned to heed the advice of their association to cease disputes about pay pending the outcome of the work of the Houghton Committee.
