HC Deb 14 November 1974 vol 881 c199W
Mr. Watt

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will institute an inquiry into the wide divergence of prices of fish at the quayside and prices at the fish shop.

Mr. Bishop

No. Whilst the fluctuations in retail prices do not always follow fluctuations in firsthand prices closely, there does not seem to be an undue divergence between the two levels. Moreover, prices and margins on fish were included in the reference of fresh foods to the Price Commission under which work is being carried out.
