§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Minister of Overseas Development if she will make a statement on relief aid for Cyprus.
§ Mrs. HartI have authorised contributions from the aid programme, of £50,000 and £500,000 respectively, to the appeals for funds for refugee relief in Cyprus made by the International Committee of the Red Cross and by the Secretary-General of the United Nations on behalf of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. £5.000 has also been provided from the aid programme for a landrover ambulance for international use in Cyprus. I have already announced that I am making available up to 400 additional awards under the Overseas Students Fees Award Scheme to meet the tuition fees of eligible Cypriot students in the United Kingdom deprived of private resources.
