HC Deb 14 November 1974 vol 881 c230W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the productive capacity of companies producing Fletton bricks in the United Kingdom; and at what percentage of total capacity they are now operating.

Mr. Kaufman

The productive capacity for Fletton bricks in Great Britain in 1973 was of the order of 3.000 million bricks a year. I understand from the London Brick Company that the effect of the cutbacks announced this year will be to reduce that production by about 40 per cent.
