asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he proposes to reintroduce a Bill to abolish the rent scrutiny board and restore powers of rent determination to the elected local authority/

Mr. Freeson

The Housing Rents and Subsidies Bill, which was introduced on 6th November, sets out the Government's proposals for restoring to local authorities freeedom to fix rents, abolishing the rent scrutiny boards and creating a new system of housing subsidy.
