HC Deb 13 November 1974 vol 881 c150W
Mr. Bulmer

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what food outside the Common Market, available on world markets, is currently cheaper than EEC products.

Mr. Bishop

It is difficult to provide precise price comparisons for food products from various national sources which generally differ in their grade, quality and method of presentation. However, the main products which are at present available to the United Kingdom more cheaply from States which are not EEC members are butter and cheese from New Zealand—under special arrangements—and lamb.
