HC Deb 13 November 1974 vol 881 c153W
Mr. Jopling

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the present collapse of the ewe trade in Scotland and in the United Kingdom hill areas.

Mr. Bishop

The fall in ewe prices so far this year as compared with last autumn reflects the recent fall in fat-stock prices and producers' anxieties about winter feed supplies. My right hon. Friend described the action being taken to meet these problems in the reply he gave to the hon. Member for Devon, West
